A CaringBridge site is created by, or for, someone experiencing
a health crisis, treatment or recovery. This free service allows
patients and their families to build communities of support to
enrich their connections to loved ones during times of need.
CaringBridge is family-centered and easy to use, offering
patients and their families the following resources:
- My Story-to tell visitors to the site why it was created
- Journal-to provide visitors with regular updates
- Photos-to show visitors pictures of their loved ones
- Guestbook-to receive messages of love, support and
encouragement from visitors
- Links-to provide visitors with additional information
Funded by individual contributions and partnerships with
hospitals and health care organizations, CaringBridge is the most
widely used online compassion technology service of its kind,
connecting patients to friends and family. Every state in the U.S.
and 6% of the population across the globe is represented by
CaringBridge.
CaringBridge is a resource caregivers can offer patients
experiencing life-changing, stressful or overwhelming personal
events to give them a tangible, meaningful way to communicate with
loved ones and enhance their hospital visits. The service can
become a critical lifeline for both the patient and visitors to the
site, easing the burden of communication with convenient 24/7
access, providing a healing journey that chronicles the patient's
experience and allowing the patient to stay in touch with and feel
a part of the community outside the hospital.
