Region's Only Cycle III Accredited Chest Pain Center
Lima Memorial Health System’s Chest Pain Center has been awarded full Cycle III Accreditation by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. Full accreditation means that Lima Memorial exceeds the standard for providing the highest quality of care for people experiencing chest pain. This ensures our patients receive the best cardiac care in our region.
Studies show that Accredited Chest Pain Centers reduce death from heart disease by 37 percent. This is done through quick action and communication between EMS squads and the Emergency Center. Area EMS squads are able to assess chest pain en-route to Lima Memorial and then communicate your status to doctors and nurses who are standing ready to treat you upon arrival.
Patients who come to Lima Memorial Health System are guaranteed to be seen by a board certified emergency physician. In addition, Interventional Cardiologists are on call and available 24 hours a day. If treatment beyond the Emergency Center is necessary, you will receive immediate attention in our cardiac catheterization lab for full diagnostic testing.
Lima Memorial’s Chest Pain Center was first accredited in 2003, at the time making the Health System one of only nine accredited in the nation, and then Cycle II re-accredited in 2006.
When dealing with potential heart attacks, every minute counts. Wouldn't you want to be treated at a center that has been nationally accredited with certified physicians and procedures? When minutes matter, put your heart in the hands of a leader.
