Innovative Simulation & Education Laboratory

A first of its kind in the region, Lima Memorial is now home to a state-of-the-art simulation laboratory, made possible through a generous donation from PotashCorp. Our simulation laboratory is a shining example of our dedication to providing our community with exceptional health care.

The educational facility has a community-wide impact, as it provides advanced training for healthcare providers, first responders (EMS) and healthcare students. This translates into improved patient outcomes and safety, both in the hospital and in the community.

The lab is outfitted with sophisticated simulation equipment, including real-to-life mannequins designed to deliver the most realistic training possible for healthcare providers and students. These high-tech mannequins are capable of being programmed to exhibit specific patient behaviors & symptoms and control how it responds to physical care & medications. Each simulated encounter incorporates all of the intricate details that would be present in the assessment and treatment of actual patients. This simulation experience allows for the deliberate practice of skills and provides a sense of realism and real-time problem solving without compromising the health and safety of patients.
