We believe our community deserves local access to world-class health care. We are committed to advancing the health of our region through philanthropic support for Lima Memorial Health System.
When you contribute to the Lima Memorial Foundation, you’re making an investment in the health of your family, friends and neighbors. Large or small, your gift helps the Lima Memorial Health System to continue to provide outstanding healthcare as the frontiers of medicine expand and community needs evolve. There are many ways you can help, whether by providing immediate cash funds, long-term planned gift or a product or service auction donation.
You may contribute an immediate gift using a personal check, cash or your credit card, or pledge a gift over an extended period. You may also make an outright gift of stock, bonds or mutual fund shares that have appreciated. This is an especially attractive option, as you enjoy significant tax savings by contributing securities that you have held for at least one year. Any gift may be directed to a particular program, or we can apply it to our most immediate need.
Matching Gifts
Many employers will match cash gifts that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. Such programs can double or even triple the value of your gift. Check with your employer to see if a matching gift program exists.
Planned Gifts
Our endowment is built through charitable bequests, gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and other financial vehicles. Some donors choose to structure a life-income gift. This allows you to make a gift of an asset that produces little or no income and receive payments back for the rest of your life. Best of all, you may be able to avoid some or all of the capital gains tax on appreciated assets. Life-income gift arrangements are managed professionally by outside investment experts at no cost to you. We provide you with all the information you need to report your charitable tax deductions and the income you receive from a life-income gift. We will be happy to meet with you and your financial advisors to discuss how best to structure a plan that meets your needs.
Commemorative Opportunities
Named gift opportunities are available to recognize significant gifts that are made for specific hospital programs or facilities. They may be named in honor of the donor, a loved one or a member of our medical staff.
