<p><strong>Mastoiditis - Indications</strong></p><p>An infection of the mastoid air cells that cannot be controlled with antibiotics may call for surgical treatment.</p>

<p><strong>Mastoidectomy - Procedure</strong></p><p>A mastoidectomy is the surgical removal of these mastoid air cells. The surgery may extend into the middle ear.</p>
