It was determined that Tim needed an aortic valve replacement due to severe aortic stenosis, which is when leaflets in an aortic valve become stiff and thickened, preventing opening and closing of the valve, limiting blood flow and making the heart work harder. To treat this, a Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) was completed, which is a less invasive procedure designed to replace a diseased aortic valve and get patients back on their feet faster.
Now back in Georgia, Tim says he is doing great, and appreciates the Great Care of the Lima Memorial Heart & Vascular Institute team.
"Everything was absolutely wonderful," shares Tim regarding his care.
