Lima Memorial Health System and Rhodes State College will partner on Wednesday, November 13, at 6:30 p.m. to host Lima Memorial’s ExploringTM Program at the Rhodes State College Borra Center for Health Sciences, located at 8 Town Square, Lima. This event offers local high school seniors an opportunity to explore the nursing profession and connect with professionals from both Lima Memorial Health System and Rhodes State College. Participants will also learn about the latest healthcare technology and educational requirements for a career in nursing.

“We’re excited to collaborate with Rhodes State College to provide this valuable experience for local youth,” shared Jessica Cunningham, Director of Patient Access Center, Quality and Education at Lima Memorial. “This program offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a healthcare environment, gaining insights that will help them make informed decisions about a future in nursing.”

During the event, students will rotate through six hands-on stations, each focusing on different aspects of nursing. Stations will feature Rhodes State College’s state-of-the-art educational technology, including OB and pediatric simulators, a vein finder, a wound VAC and the Anatomage table—a 3D anatomy visualization and virtual dissection tool. Additional hands-on activities will include demonstrations in ER / trauma, CPR and taking blood pressure and vitals.

"Through this partnership with Lima Memorial Health System, we’re excited to offer high school students hands-on experiences that could inspire a lifelong commitment to nursing,” said Angela Heaton, Dean of Health Sciences and Public Services at Rhodes State College. “By immersing them in real-world healthcare scenarios and introducing them to cutting-edge technology, we aim to show these young adults the meaningful futures they can build—and the positive impact they can make in their communities.”

Lima Memorial’s ExploringTM Program seeks to provide high school students with meaningful real-world experiences and leadership development opportunities in healthcare fields that align with their interests.
