As one of the region’s largest employers, Lima Memorial is proud to partner with area organizations to train our current associates and assist in furthering their personal career goals at Lima Memorial Health System. This summer, Lima Memorial partnered with Apollo Career Center and Ohio Means Jobs to provide an educational pathway for associates who desired to advance their career by enrolling in State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) courses. The Ohio Means Jobs Incumbent Workforce Program provided the financial resources to assist in STNA coursework tuition. “The ultimate goal of this program is twofold: allow employers to retain and grow their existing workforce and create a statewide workforce that can meet the present and future demands in an ever-changing economy,” Lima Memorial’s Human Resources Business Partner Patti Eilerman says.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be prepared nurse aides, equipped to provide hands-on personal and basic nursing care to patients, under the supervision of a licensed nurse. A certificate of completion will be given to each successful candidate and the student will then be able to register to take the mandatory state test.
