Lima Memorial Celebrates National Hospital Week 2024

Lima Memorial Health System will be hosting a number of activities to celebrate National Hospital Week, May 12 - 18, 2024. 12 individuals will be specially recognized as Champions of Great Care at a Great Care Celebration on Monday, May 13. These individuals were nominated by their peers for going the extra mile each and every day for patients and their families, as well as for their fellow associates. Additionally, Lima Memorial Health System’s leadership team will serve an appreciation meal for all associates and volunteers on all three shifts. A Blessing of the Hands will also be held throughout the week that will include an anointing and special prayer for hospital caregivers.

About National Hospital Week
Recognized as the nation’s largest healthcare event, National Hospital Week dates back to 1921 when it was suggested by a magazine editor who hoped a community-wide celebration would alleviate public fears about hospitals. The celebration, launched in Chicago, succeeded in promoting trust and goodwill among members of the public and eventually spread to facilities across the country.
