Lima Memorial Foundation Journeys to the Red Carpet

17th Annual Gala to Raise Funds to Transform Inpatient Rehabilitation

On Thursday, September 13, more than 800 friends of the Lima Memorial Foundation will Journey to the Red Carpet at the 17th Annual Fundraising Gala. The undeveloped portion of the Lima Mall is the setting for this Hollywood-themed event. Guests will journey from the red carpet and bright lights of Hollywood to the backlot studios and Coconut Club. The Foundation’s funding priority to transform inpatient rehabilitation will be center stage as guests participate in silent and live auctions, as well as a fund-a-need paddle raise.  

“Through community support, we will transform the way care is delivered for patients who require intense rehab following a stroke, trauma, major injury or debilitating illness,” stated Mike Swick, President and CEO of Lima Memorial Health System. “The project will leverage the outstanding care being provided by our inpatient rehabilitation team by uniquely creating a family-centered, community-based environment, complete with innovative therapeutic technology.”

“Lima Memorial is proud of its strong tradition of partnering with the community to bring healthcare advancements to our region,” commented Scott Shutt, Lima Memorial Foundation Board Chairman and Vice President of Kewpee Hamburgers. “Journey to the Red Carpet will transform inpatient rehabilitation as we know it and allow patients to stay locally for advanced rehabilitative care.”

“I am eager to see the transformation take place,” stated Dr. Kurt Kuhlman, Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services at Lima Memorial Health System. “The new Inpatient Rehabilitation Center will bring a whole new level of care to our community and be instrumental in helping patients take their new first step sooner and reclaim the life they once enjoyed. Together, we are changing their lives.”

100% of all donations and funds raised from the gala will support the transformation of inpatient rehabilitation in our community. The event is expected to raise in excess of $700,000.
