Lima Memorial Health System Announces New Organizational Changes

Lima Memorial Health System has announced new organizational changes to implement and leverage its 2023 key strategic initiatives focused on Quality, Safety & Patient Experience, Growth, Workforce, Community, Information Systems and Finance. Accordingly, these changes will align leadership responsibilities to the key strategic priorities and promote professional development and succession planning at all levels.

Dr. Dennis Morris, Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, has announced retirement, effective April 1, 2023.

Dr. Susan Kaufman will assume the role of Vice President & Chief Medical Officer and begin working alongside Dr. Morris during the transition period. Dr. Kaufman has practiced family medicine for 31 years, ten of which have been with Lima Memorial Physicians. During this time, Dr. Kaufman served as Chief of Medical Staff, Division Chief for Primary Care and Lima Memorial Physicians Primary Care Medical Director. Dr. Kaufman holds a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master’s of Health Services Administration.

Bob Armstrong, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will assume the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. In this capacity, Bob will lead system-wide business development and process improvement strategies.

Lynn Carpenter, current Executive Director of Foundation, Marketing, Volunteer Services and Provider Recruitment, will be promoted to Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. Throughout her 28-year career at Lima Memorial, Lynn Carpenter has provided strategic and operational leadership for numerous service lines, departments and key initiatives. She holds a Master’s of Business Administration and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Lima Memorial’s organizational changes will take place on January 1, 2023, with Mike Swick remaining as President & CEO.
