Lima Memorial Health System Hosts Laboratory Career Exploring™ Day

As part of its ongoing Exploring™ Program, Lima Memorial will be hosting a Laboratory Services Exploration Day on Wednesday, January 29, beginning at 7 p.m. Exploring™ exists to teach important life and career skills to young people from all backgrounds in grades 9-12. This program is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between the students and Lima Memorial Health System. The result is a program of interactive activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow and develop.
Wednesday’s program will take place within the Lima Memorial Laboratory and Pathology Departments. Designed to highlight numerous careers in Laboratory and Pathology medicine, students will have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the different roles within these areas. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in six workstations for hands-on activities that include phlebotomy, pathology, microbiology, hematology, chemistry and blood bank.
The Exploring™ Program is designed to provide positive and meaningful real-world career experiences and leadership development opportunities for students in their chosen field(s) of interest. Participants will gain knowledge to make informed decisions about future careers and determine if a particular healthcare career is right for them.
