Lima Memorial Health System will host the 2019 National Cancer Survivors Day® on Thursday, June 6 at the Old Barn Out Back. National Cancer Survivors Day® is an annual Celebration of Life for those individuals who have prevailed and survived a cancer diagnosis. In addition, this event is an inspiration and a form of support to those individuals who have been recently diagnosed with cancer.
“We are very excited to be once again hosting this event,” states Cheryl Nagy, Director of Oncology Services at Lima Memorial Health System. “2019 marks 25 years of celebrating National Cancer Survivors Day® in our community. It is truly an inspiration to be surrounded by numerous individuals who have battled or are currently battling a cancer diagnosis.” Survivors and their guests will enjoy an evening full of creativity, joy, hope, camaraderie and compassion.
Anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life – is a cancer survivor, according to the National Cancer Survivors Day®Foundation. Major advances in cancer prevention, early detection and treatment have resulted in longer survival, and therefore, a growing number of cancer survivors. Lima Memorial remains committed to improving the quality of life for cancer survivors.
