Commemorating Beginning of Construction
On Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 1 p.m., Lima Memorial Health System will hold a ceremony to officially commemorate the beginning of construction for its new Welcome Center. The 7,000-square-foot Welcome Center will enhance the patient and visitor experience with a multi-lane drive and large, protective canopy, a full-service café and an expanded and modernized gift shop. It will also conveniently connect to the Outpatient Diagnostic & Imaging Center as well as the Emergency Center for easy patient and visitor navigation.
Construction of the Welcome Center marks the final phase of a $30 million project that began in 2019. This significant investment in the health of the greater Lima region will provide convenient access to top-quality health care well into the future. The expansion project included a new 20,000-square-foot Outpatient Diagnostic and Imaging Center, a 16,000-square-foot cardiac area, a newly transformed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and the recently opened Lima Memorial Medical Center at Wapakoneta.
“As the community’s locally owned and operated health system, we are always moving forward in our promise to provide Great Care to our community,” says Lima Memorial Health System President and CEO Michael D. Swick. “This Welcome Center is a true reflection of the Great Care our team provides each and every day.”
Construction for the Welcome Center is scheduled for completion this winter. During construction, patients and visitors are being directed to enter the health system through the Patient Services Building facing Dewey Avenue.
In accordance with Ohio’s COVID-19 restrictions, Lima Memorial’s Welcome Center groundbreaking will be by invitation only.
