In celebration of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lima Memorial Health System will host the 21st Annual Hope Garden Ceremony on Thursday, October 19. Breast cancer survivors, family and friends are invited to gather at the Lima Memorial Medical Park on Eastown Road at noon for this celebration of life and survivorship.
Cynthia Lowe, breast cancer survivor, will be featured as the ceremony’s guest speaker. The ceremony will culminate with a presentation of a special Hope Garden statue donation. Guests will enjoy poems and words of encouragement provided by Stephanie Reindel, Ultrasound Technologist and Breast Patient Navigator, as well as a live string art demonstration by Alicia Mack. Light refreshments will also be provided.
“Our Hope Garden Celebration signifies a renewal of hope to everyone who has been touched by breast cancer,” said Dr. Darlene Weyer, Medical Director of Lima Memorial’s Women’s Health Center. “Keeping spirits up has always been important throughout all phases of the breast cancer journey. This event serves as a celebration of life for survivors, their family and friends and a remembrance to those who have gone on before us.”
