Lima Memorial Health System will host a virtual ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Lima Memorial Medical Center at Wapakoneta on Monday, November 23. The ribbon cutting ceremony of the new facility will be streamed live and viewable from Lima Memorial’s Facebook page at 10 a.m., ahead of its public opening for patient care later that same day.
Lima Memorial Medical Center at Wapakoneta was constructed to accommodate the tremendous growth of family medicine and Walk-In Care services. Wapakoneta is the largest primary care location in the Lima Memorial Physicians network, accounting for more than 20,000 patient visits each year.
Features within the $3.9 million facility include 21 newly equipped exam rooms and 2 procedure rooms. Multiple check-in and checkout stations maximize patient privacy and efficiency. Décor throughout the 16,000 square foot facility is reminiscent of Auglaize County’s rich history, including its hometown hero, Neil Armstrong.
Patients will benefit from the convenience of on-site laboratory and x-ray services. Local businesses and industries can keep their workers safe and healthy with the center’s on-site occupational health services. Future plans include the addition of ultrasound and mammography services.
Lima Memorial Medical Center at Wapakoneta has six providers with plans for continued growth to meet the ever-increasing demands for primary care services. Specialty care services will be introduced at the new location as well.
“As a locally owned and operated health system, we are deeply invested in the health of our community,” stated Michael D. Swick, President and CEO of Lima Memorial Health System. “This expansion allows us to continue to meet the growing needs of our patients and their families well into the future.”
Lima Memorial Medical Center at Wapakoneta will begin seeing patients on Monday, November 23, at 12 p.m. This investment is part of Lima Memorial Health System’s $30 million expansion and investment in the health of the greater Lima region.
