Lima Memorial to Hold 26th Annual Hope Garden Celebration

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lima Memorial Health System will hold its 26th annual Hope Garden Celebration on Thursday, October 20. Breast cancer survivors, family and friends are invited to gather at the Lima Memorial Medical Park on Eastown Road at noon for this celebration of life and survivorship. Event highlights will include a moment of prayer and reflection, shoe bedazzling, a Hope Garden Ceremony and fellowship among survivors.
“Our Hope Garden Celebration is about renewal of hope for anyone who has been touched by breast cancer,” said Dr. Darlene Weyer, Medical Director of Lima Memorial Women’s Health Center. “It is absolutely important to surround oneself with positivity, support and good friends when faced with a cancer diagnosis. This event serves as a celebration of life for survivors, their supporters and those who have gone before us.”
In addition to the Hope Garden Celebration, Lima Memorial will turn its building lights pink on October 20 and 21 in celebration of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in recognition of National Mammography Day on October 21.
