In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lima Memorial Health System will hold its 27th annual Hope Garden Celebration on Thursday, October 19. Breast cancer survivors, family and friends are invited to gather at the Lima Memorial Medical Park on Eastown Road at noon for this celebration of life and survivorship. Event highlights will include a moment of prayer and reflection, words of appreciation from the medical park team, food truck meals from Tom’s NYC Hot Dogs, signing of birdhouses for the Hope Garden area, raffles and more.
“Hope is the one thing that is stronger than fear. When you hold on to hope in times of darkness, all you see is the light,” shares Dr. Darlene Weyer, Women’s Health Center Medical Director. “The annual Hope Garden Celebration allows us to bring together our patients, their families and their friends to encourage everyone to stay in the moment and remain hopeful that even better things are yet to come.”
Additionally, the Temple Christian School and Perry High School volleyball teams will each present a check donation to the Lima Memorial Women’s Health Center as a part of their individual game fundraisers held this month.
Please call 419-998-4497 (choose option 2) by Wednesday, October 18, to RSVP for the free Hope Garden event.
