Lima Memorial Health System will host an Exploring™ Open House for high school students, grades 9-12, on Thursday, November 1 at 7 p.m. Students and their guardians will learn about this exciting new program that will provide hands-on activities for youth looking to discover their future career path. “The program provides a unique and dynamic relationship between local youth and Lima Memorial,” states Tina Verhoff, Lima Memorial Human Resources Director. “The result is a program of interactive activities that help these young people pursue their special interests, grow, develop and expose them to unique career opportunities available to them right here in the community they were raised.”
The Exploring™ program is designed to provide positive and meaningful real-world experiences and leadership development opportunities for students in their chosen field(s) of interest. By becoming a program participant, students will be able to make informed decisions about future careers and determine if a particular healthcare career is right for them. As an explorer, students will, participate in hands-on experiences, network with healthcare professionals, learn about the latest technology in health care, learn about educational requirements needed and practice leadership skills. The open house is the first of many events scheduled throughout the year to engage area youth.
