Lima Memorial to Host Exploring™ Day for Area Youth

As part of its ongoing Exploring™ Program, Lima Memorial will be hosting an Exploration Day on Friday, March 1. Participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves into two simulated scenarios that include following two patients throughout their stay at Lima Memorial. The scenarios will involve a patient who has experienced a stroke and another who has experienced a heart attack.
Students in grades 9-12 will be participating and will learn about the collaboration required by many departments to care for these patients. This experience will include a behind-the-scenes look at the Emergency Center, Catheterization Lab, Hybrid OR, Intensive Care Unit, Inpatient Rehabilitation and Simulation & Education Laboratory.
The Exploring™ Program is designed to provide positive and meaningful real-world career experiences and leadership development opportunities in a student’s chosen field(s) of interest. By being a participant, students will be able to make informed decisions about future healthcare careers.
