Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment Congestive Heart Failure
Lima Memorial Health System invites the public to attend a free educational seminar on congestive heart failure on Thursday, February 9. Dr. Pamela Gardner, Cardiologist and Medical Director of Lima Memorial’s Congestive Heart Failure Clinic, will be discussing symptoms, diagnosis and new treatment options of congestive heart failure. The presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Lima Memorial’s Auxiliary Conference Center with registration beginning at 6 p.m.
Heart failure occurs when the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body’s demands. According to the American Heart Association, more than 5.1 million Americans have heart failure, with approximately 670,000 new cases diagnosed each year. Dr. Gardner will overview what heart failure is, who is at risk for it and treatment options available to patients. Participants will learn about the advances that have been brought to the Lima area recently, including CardioMems® technology, which allows patients to live a productive life with few lifestyle alterations. Following the presentation, Dr. Gardner will host a question and answer session for participants.
