Lima Memorial to Host Rehabilitation Reunion

Lima Memorial Health System will host its 20th annual Rehabilitation Reunion on Friday, October 14 from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Auxiliary Conference Center. Former rehabilitation patients, along with their family members and caregivers, are invited to join the Lima Memorial care team for this celebratory event.
The event highlight will be an awards ceremony in which the Rehab Patient of the Year will be named, in addition to several honorable mentions given. The awards are presented to patients based on their high level of motivation, positive attitude and inspiration provided to other patients as they traveled along their road to recovery.
“The Rehabilitation Reunion is always a very special event for our former patients, their families and the associates who cared for them,” said Dr. Kurt Kuhlman, Medical Director of Lima Memorial’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. “It’s inspiring to have so many patients return and share their stories of triumph over their illnesses and injuries.”
The rehabilitation team at Lima Memorial cares for people who have functional limitations in mobility, self-care, and / or communication. These limitations may be the result of stroke, brain injury, back injury, joint replacement, open heart surgery, spinal cord injuries, arthritis, orthopaedic injury, congenital deformities, major multiple traumas, amputation, neurologic diseases or other disabling conditions. The goal is to help individuals gain as much independence as possible and return them to their home environment.
