Lima Memorial Health System is proud to announce that the LMHS Women’s Health Center has been reaccredited with the ACR Gold Seal of Accreditation in mammography. This three-year accreditation, following a recent review by the American College of Radiology® (ACR®), signifies the highest standards of image quality and patient safety.
The ACR gold seal signifies excellence awarded to facilities meeting stringent ACR standards. Board-certified physicians and medical physicists review image quality, staff qualifications, equipment and quality control measures. Results in a detailed report help facilities to improve continuously.
“We are honored and proud to receive this reaccreditation,” stated Dr. Darlene Weyer, Medical Director of the Women’s Health Center. “This accomplishment reinforces our dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care to the women in our community. By offering accredited mammography services at Lima Memorial, we are enhancing the accessibility and convenience of life-saving screenings, thereby providing our patients with the comfort and peace of mind they deserve.”
Every cancer diagnosis begins with imaging, and having the clearest possible image is crucial for identifying breast cancer at its most treatable stage, whether a nodule is detected through testing or incidentally. For this reason, Lima Memorial offers mammography services at both the Lima Memorial Women’s Health Center and the LMHS Wapakoneta Medical Center.
