The public is invited to a free health event on Saturday, September 23 to learn about hernia detection and treatment. The event will take place from 9 – 11 a.m. in Lima Memorial’s Auxiliary Conference Center.
Drs. Jeremy Heffner and Philip Gafford, Midwest Surgical Specialists robotic experts, will provide education on the early detection of hernias and the latest minimally invasive procedures available for hernia repair. Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive a free, private hernia screening following the presentation. They can also participate in a hands-on demonstration of Lima Memorial’s innovative robotic-assisted surgical technology.
Hernias are a common but often misunderstood condition, presenting symptoms such as swelling, a bulge in the abdomen, pelvis or groin area; pain or discomfort, especially when bending over, coughing or lifting; weakness, pressure or a feeling of heaviness in the abdomen and/or acid reflux, chest pain or difficulty swallowing. Left untreated, a hernia can lead to more serious, life-threatening conditions.
RSVP is requested by calling 419-998-4741.
