Promising Local Students Receive Lima Memorial Auxiliary Scholarships

Each year, the Lima Memorial Auxiliary awards scholarships to deserving, local students who plan to pursue a career in the medical field. Three outstanding students will be recognized this year and awarded their scholarships at the Lima Memorial Auxiliary Summer General Meeting on Thursday, June 9.
Lima Central Catholic senior Carlie VanMeter, daughter of Ryan and Carol VanMeter, will be awarded one of two Lima Memorial Auxiliary $1,500 scholarships, which she plans to use at Ohio University this fall while majoring in nursing. The second $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to Ottawa-Glandorf High School senior Emilee Horstman. Emilee is the daughter of Don and Jennifer Horstman and plans to attend the Ohio State University in the fall to pursue her nursing degree and pre-med.
Wapakoneta High School senior, Addalyn Allen, will be awarded the distinguished $2,000 Volunteen Scholarship. Addalyn is the daughter of Rusty and Julie Allen and plans to attend Bowling Green State University to major in nursing this fall.
Additionally, three local students were recently awarded scholarships from the Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association. The recipients of these scholarships were Kenton High School senior Kylie Allmon, Delphos St. John’s High School senior Halle Elwer and Bluffton High School senior Luke Shadle.
